HAMILTON RESERVOIR ASSOCIATION NEWSLETTER MAY 2004
WELL TESTING: As requested we have asked Lee Lyman of Lycott Engineering to do the well testing for us again. As before, he will be at our meeting to discuss how to do the testing and provide the test kits. You will be able to take the container back to your home, after the meeting, fill them up and return the container to the school that day with your check. The confidential results will be mailed to your home. Please invite neighbors who may not be a HRA member to come to our meeting and participate in the well testing. You will be able to select from the Basic Test(bacteria) for $40 or the Comprehensive Test(13 different test) for $85.
SEEDING: Lycott Engineering will be treating the lake again this year. The tentative date for the treatment of milfoil is June 17th. The lily pads and water shield will be treated later in the season. We are still awaiting the state's decision/approval for what chemical they will allow to be used in that treatment. The state of MA has recognized how invasive plants are destroying out lakes and ponds. They have recently passed legislation, setting aside $400,000 to help towns pay for treatment.
GUEST SPEAKERS: In addition to Lee Lyman the executive board has asked the Town Selectmen to attend, speak and answer your questions. There is a lot going on in Holland, including tax issues. Bring your questions. Also, the Police Chief will attend to discuss plans for the summer season.
